This laboratory is responsible for quality control of all laboratories in the department. The laboratory will soon be refurbished, but all required tests are still being carried out. In this section of the laboratory, samples are received, mixed and processed & stained for loading on slide chambers for manual counts. Samples are also tested using the above shown, Sysmex counter. Distilled water is presently being produced in this lab as well.

Loaded chambers are read in the microscope station and data is logged into computer database. Reports are prepared and given to Quality Assurance for corrective action to be taken if necessary.

All laboratories are charted for ambient temperatures by these chart recorders both for equipment and blood products.
