Gozo General Hospital, Blood Donation Department opens from 8.00 a.m to 11.30 a.m from Mondays to Fridays, and Saturday, from 8.00 a.m till 11.00 a.m. The centre is linked with the National Blood Transfusion Service via the computer system. All the blood collected is sent to the National Blood Transfusion Service (Malta) for testing and processing. Tested and processed blood is referred from National Blood Transfusion Service to the Gozo General Hospital for use by patients in Gozo.

Every 5 weeks, nurses and a doctor from Malta open the Gozo Blood Donation Department on a Sunday to reach those donors who can cannot donate blood on weekdays. The date is published in the press, radio and on this web page.
