Melamine contaminated foodstuffs originating from China
Attention all importers
The Department for Environmental Health would like to bring to the attention of all importers that the designated points of control in terms of Commission Decision 2008/798/EC, as amended, imposing special conditions governing the import of products containing milk, milk products, soya and soya products originating in or consigned from China, are the following:
Animal feedingstuffs
Other foodstuffs including composite products containing milk products
There is no authorisation for the importation into the EU of milk and dairy products produced in China.

Melamine contaminated powdered infant formula in China
The Department for Environmental Health is closely monitoring the local situation following recent events in China regarding contaminated milk and milk products with melamine.
