Our Logo

The logo for the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Unit is the Gardjola which is a stone vedette situated at Senglea Bastion point. This served as a look-out post to guard the harbour entrance. The sculptured eye and ear above its windows are symbols of vigilance.

This stone vedette was chosen as the logo for IDCU since surveillance require's vigilance in being on the look out for communicable diseases in Malta.
