Special conditions governing the import of ammonium bicarbonate intended for food and feed and products containing milk, milk products, soya or soya products originating in or consigned from China   (Commission Decision 2008/798/EC (MT) of the 14th October 2008 as amended by Commission Decision 2008/921/EC (MT) of the 9th December 2008 and repealing Commission Decision 2008/757/EC (MT) of the 26th September 2008   This Decision applies to the following products originating from China: i.             i    Products containing milk, milk products, soya or soya products intended for the particular nutritional use of infants and young children ii.            ii   Products containing milk and milk products.    iii   Products containing soya and soya products    iv   Ammonium bicarbonate intended for food and feed Importation of products containing milk, milk products, soya or soya products intended for the particular nutritional use of infants and young children is prohibited.   Consignments originating in or consigned from China of ammomium bicarbonate intended for food and feed and of food and feed containing milk, milk products, soya and soya products shall be sampled and analysed to ascertain that the level of melamine, if any, does not exceed 2.5mg/km. All costs resulting from sampling, analysis and storage of the products shall be borne by the food business operator responsible for the consignment or its representative.         Back to homepage
